dend on stock, or dividend on premiums, shall
he indebted to the Company, for sums part due
and unpaid, the Company may, at its option,
withhold the interest or dividend or both, and
deduct such sums from the amount thereof, and
for any debts due to the Company by any holder
of certificates of stock, the Company shall have
a lien on all interest of said debtors to said
Company, in such certificates, but persons in-
suring or entitled to dividends, shall not be an-
swerable by reason thereof, or of any thing con-
tained herein, except for the payment of their
premiums, or of notes given for, or in advance of
premiums.

Competent wit-
ness.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That in suits by or
against said Company, no member of the corpora-
tion shall on that account, if he be not in his in-
dividual capacity a party to such suits, be incom-
petent as a witness.

Act to endure
for 30 years.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That this act shall
endure for thirty years from the date of its pas-
sage, and should it not be renewed or extended at
the expiration of that time, then the accumulated
capital and reserved fund of the said Company,
after all its risks shall have run out and expired,
and all claims against the Company shall have
been satisfied, shall be divided pro rata among
the members of the Company, or their legal rep-
resentatives.

Who are to be
deemed mem-
bers.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That all persons
hereafter becoming stockholders in this Company,
shall be deemed members of the Company, under
the act of incorporation.

Statement of
affairs to be
published.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That this corpora-
tion be, and is hereby required to make an an-
nual statement of their affairs, to be published in
one or more newspapers in the city of Baltimore,
once a week for three consecutive weeks, under
the oath or affirmation of the President thereof.
