SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 359.

In force.

AN ACT to authorise the Commissioners of St.
Mary's county to close the public landing at
at the Queen Tree, in said county, and to con-
demn a new landing near the same, and to
change the road thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commission-
ers of St. Mary's county be and they are hereby
authorised, if they deem the same necessary
for public convenience, to appoint three dis-
creet and suitable men as commissioners, who shall
be and they are hereby empowered to lay off and
condemn a lot of ground for a public landing,
near the public landing at the Queen Tree, on the
Patuxent river; and the said commissioners shall
cause the same to be surveyed and platted, and
shall report the same, together with the expen-
ses attending the execution of the commission, to

the said County Commissioners; Provided, that
before the old landing shall be closed and the
new landing condemned, the assent of the present
owners of the land to its condemnation shall be
given; And provided also, that there shall be no
allowance to said owner for such new landing.

Provisos.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commission-
ers aforesaid who shall be appointed by said
County Commissioners, shall also locate and con-
demn such road as may be necessary in order to
reach conveniently said new landing so contem-
plated to be laid off and condemned, and shall
return a plat of the same in connection with the
plat of the landing aforesaid; which road and
landing when adopted by the County Commis-
sioners aforesaid, and assented to by the owner of
the land on which they are located, shall be con-
