Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, certain unpatented certificates of sur-
veys in the Land Office of Maryland, which
have been compounded on, have never been re-
corded, and are in a decaying condition, and lia-
ble to be utterly destroyed by the ravages of
time; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Commissioner of the
Land Office of Maryland, be and he in hereby au-
thorised, to have made out a list of all the certifi-
cates of surveys in his office, which have been
compounded on, and ready for patents to issue
thereon, the parties in whose names they stand
having an equitable title therein, and state in
said list the county in which the lands lie, the
names of the parties in whom the surveys were
made, with an account of their condition and
liabilities to decay, and after the said list shall
have been completed, the said commissioner of the
Land Office, is hereby required to have the same
advertised in one newspaper in each county of
the State, for the period of three months, con-
fining said advertisement to a list of the unpat-
ented certificates in the county in which the
lands lie.
