LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Duty of the
Comptroller.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the Comptroller of the Treasury, and he
is hereby required immediately upon the passage
of this act, to transmit a copy of the same to the
State's Attorney of Baltimore city, whose duty it
shall be, and who is hereby authorised to release
the judgments referred to in the first section of this
act, so far as the same affects in any manner the
heirs and personal representatives of said Joshua

Proviso.

M. Turner; Provided, the said heirs or personal
representatives of the said Joshua M. Turner,
shall pay to the State of Maryland, their propor-
tionable part of the remaining part of said judg-
ment, and provided further, that this partial re-
lease of the heirs and personal representatives of
said Joshua M. Turner, shall not be construed
to operate as a release to the other defendants to
said judgment.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the passage thereof.

CHAPTER 306.

9, 1858.

AN ACT to authorise the appointment of an In-
spector of Lumber at Bell's Ferry, in the Sec-
ond Election District of Harford county.

Governor to
appoint Inspec-
tor.

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Governor be and he
is hereby authorised to appoint an Inspector of
Lumber for Bell's Ferry, or Lapidum, in the
Second Election District of Harford county, who
shall be entitled to such legal allowance as is
given to other Inspectors of Lumber in said State
tor inspecting and counting lumber.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
