Proviso.

the date of such deed and acknowledgement;
Provided, that the rights of bona fide creditors
and purchasers for valuable consideration, who
became such prior to the passage of this act,
shall not he affected.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 299.

10, 1858.

AN ACT for the benefit of Elizabeth Mills, the
legal representative of Henry Gassaway, late of
Anne Arundel county, deceased.

Treasurer re-
quired to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the
warrant of the Comptroller, is hereby directed to
pay to Elizabeth Mills, the legal representative of
Lavina Gassaway, the widow of Henry Gassaway,
late Lieutenant in the war of the Revolution, the
sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, and which
said sum of money shall be in lieu of all claims,
said Elizabeth Mills, as legal representative, may
possess for bounty land and rations, and money
expended by her father the late Henry Gassaway,
and the pension due her mother the late Lavina
Gassaway.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.
