tied to the same annual appropriation, which may
be voted to volunteer Companies, not of the bat-
talion by the city of Baltimore, under the act of
Assembly, passed at January session, of eighteen
hundred and fifty-three, chapter three hundred
and forty-three, and the Companies of said battal-
ion, shall always be entitled to the immunities and
privileges now enjoyed by, or that may hereafter
be granted to any military organization by the
General Assembly of the State.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That said battalion,
is authorised to receive in addition to its com-
plement of officers and men, one hundred con-
tributing or honorary members, each of whom
upon the payment of ten dollars annually, shall
be entitled to all the privileges and exemptions
originally granted to the officers and men of the
First Light Division of Maryland Volunteers, and
by the act of Assembly, passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and forty-five, chapter
sixty-nine, to the honorary or contributing mem-
bers of the Eagle Artillery Company of Baltimore.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said Balti-
more City Guard, is hereby excepted from the
operation of the provisions of any act of Assem-
bly, which provides for a general military or-
ganization, and which may be inconsistent with
the provisions of this act.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 293.

In force.

AN ACT to authorise the Trustees of the Metho-
dist Episcopal Church in the town of Sharps-
burg, in Washington county, to sell a certain
lot of ground in said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Trustees of the Metho-
dist Episcopal Church, in the town of Sharpsburg,
