CHAPTER 32.

AN ACT to authorise the appointment, fix the
salary and tenure, and ascertain the duties, of
the Private Secretary of the Governor.
|
|
|

appoint.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That from and after the pas-
sage of this act the Governor may and shall ap-
point a suitable person to be his private secretary,
who shall hold his office during the pleasure of
the Governor, shall perform all the duties now
attached to the office of messenger to the Gover-
nor, and shall receive for the time he continues in
office at the rate of eight hundred dollars annu-
ally, to be paid as other salaries are paid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said private
secretary shall not hereafter be allowed nor paid
any commissions on any purchases of articles for
the use of the State, but the said annual salary of
eight hundred dollars shall be in lieu of all such
commissions, and in full compensation for all his
services.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the office of
Messenger to the Governor be and the same is
hereby abolished.

AN ACT to authorise the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of Worcester county to have certain Re-
cord Books repaired.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, several of the important Record Books
in the office of the clerk of the Circuit Court
for Worcester county are in a delapidated con-
dition and require repair; Therefore,
|
|
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the clerk of the Circuit
Court for Worcester county be and he is hereby
