name of said Church has been changed by an
act of the Legislature of Pennsylvania, to that
of the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia ;
And whereas, said deed has not yet been re-
corded; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That said deed may be within
six months from the passage of this act, recorded
among the land records of the City of Baltimore,
to have the same effect in all respects as between
the parties thereto, and all persons claiming under
them, as if the same had been duly recorded with-
in six months from the date thereof, saving and
reserving however the rights of the creditors,
if any there be, of said David Shields; and the
assent of the Legislature of Maryland, is hereby
given to the change of the name of said church,
from that of the First Baptist Church of Phila-
delphia, meeting for worship, in Second street,
between High and Mulberry streets, to that of the
First Baptist Church of Philadelphia.

Deed may be

recorded.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the leave of
the Legislature be, and is hereby given to the
devise and provisions contained in the last will
and testament of the said Thomas Shields, late of
Philadelphia, deceased, which are set forth in the
above recital, and permission is also hereby given
to said church, to sell and dispose of said house
and lot, and convey the same absolutely to the
purchaser or purchasers thereof, but the purchase
money shall be held and preserved by said church
on the same trusts as are above declared in and
by said will.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
