of Worcester county, in the State of Maryland,
to Benjamin Bassett of said county and State,
and which is recorded among the Land Records
of said county, in Liber G. M. H., number five,
folio three hundred and thirty-six, and three hun-
dred and thirty-seven, be and the same is hereby
declared as valid and effectual in law, to all in-
tents and purposes as if the said deed of convey-
ance had been in all respects acknowledged ac-
cording to the laws then existing, for the acknow-

ledgment of deeds in this State; Provided, that
nothing in this act contained shall be construed to
effect the rights or interest of bona fide creditors
or purchasers for valuable consideration which
accrued before the passage of this act.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 213.

In force.

AN ACT to protect the public bridge at Crorap-
ton in Queen Anne's county.

5, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That no person shall cut, break,
obstruct, misuse or in any way injure the bridge
over Chester River at Crompton, in Queen Anne's
county, under a penalty of not less than five or
more than fifty dollars for each offence, or drive,
or ride over said bridge faster than a walk, under
a penalty of two dollars, or leave the draw of
said bridge open, for any unnecessary period of
time, under a penalty of five dollars for each of-

fence; Provided, proper notice of these penalties
is kept conspicuously placed on said bridge.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any of said
penalties may be recovered before any justice of
the peace in Kent or Queen Anne's counties, one
half to go to the informer and the other half to
the county in which it is recovered.
