LAWS OF MARYLAND.

upon the inhabitants of said District all the
rights, liberties and privileges, held or to be
held and enjoyed by the inhabitants of the oth-
er Election Districts in said county; And where-
as, no special provision was made in said act for
the election of Justices of the Peace, Consta-
bles and Road Supervisors; And whereas, the
Sheriff of the said county gave notice of election
for two Justices of the Peace, one Constable,
and one Road Supervisor for said District; And
whereas, the inhabitants of said District, in ac-
cordance with said notice, elected at the last
general election, two Justices of the Peace, one
Constable and one Road Supervisor for said Dis-
trict; And whereas, doubts are entertained of
the legality of said notice and election; There-
fore,

Election made
valid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said notice of election
and the said election of two Justices of the Peace,
one Constable and one Road Supervisor, be made
as effectual, us if the said act had authorised the
Sheriff to give said notice and the said election
had been held in accordance therewith.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the acts of the
said Justices of the Peace, Constable and Road
Supervisor done since their qualification, and here-
after to be done, be and they are hereby made
valid and effectual as if the notice of election by
the Sheriff had been authorised by the law and
the election aforesaid held accordingly.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Sheriff of
Carroll county be and he is hereby authorised at
every general election hereafter to be held to give
notice for the election of two Justices of the Peace,
one Constable and one Road Supervisor for said
district, and at all elections hereafter to be held
to give the usual notice according to law to the
inhabitants of said district.

In force.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date its passage.
