CHAPTER 185.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorise the Orphans' Court of
Somerset county, to purchase a new Seal, and
to provide for the better preservation of the re-
cords in their office.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Orphans' Court of
Somerset county, be and they are hereby author-
ised to provide a new seal for the said court, (if
they shall deem the same necessary) at the ex-
pense of the said county, provided the cost of the
same shall not exceed the sum of seventy-five dol-
lars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Or-
phans' Court are hereby authorised and empower-
ed to cause such alterations and repairs to be
made in the office of the Register of Wills for
Somerset county, as they may deem necessary
for the preservation of the records and papers in
said office, and that the expenses thereof be levied
on the assessable property of said county, at the
next annual levy to be made by the Commission-
ers of said county.

AN ACT to make valid a bill of sale from James
Deale of Anne Arundel county, to Franklin
Waters.

WHEREAS, on the sixteenth day of May, in the
year eighteen hundred and forty-two, James
Deale, of Anne Arundel county, executed to a
certain Franklin Waters, then of Prince George's
county, a bill of sale for a certain negro woman
named Hester, and her infant child Hester, the
said negro woman to serve as a slave, until the
year eighteen hundred and forty-six, and the
