CHAPTER 172.

AN ACT for the relief of Thomas S. Beall, sur-
viving executor of Aquilla Beall, former clerk
of Prince George's County Court.

Passed March
2, 1858.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly that Aquilla Beall, former clerk of
Prince George's County Court, was at the time
of his death indebted to the State of Maryland
for tax on writs, &c., in the sum of five thou-
sand seven hundred and twenty-six dollars and
eighty-two cents, and that letters testamentary
were granted by the Orphans Court of said
county, on his personal estate, to Thomas 8.
Beall and one Brooke Beall, now deceased, who,
in ignorance of the condition of his estate, con-
fussed an absolute judgment in said court, for
the whole amount of said indebtedness And
whereas, the said executors have paid at various
times, in part of said judgment and the interest
thereon, the sum of eight thousand five hun-
dred and seventy-eight dollars and ninety-seven
cents, which said sum with other debts paid on
account of said estate, have absorbed the whole
of the estate which came to their hands, and
the said Brooke Beall, having since died, the
said Thomas S. Beall is held personally liable
for the payment of the balance of said debt,
which, from the particular circumstances of the
case, entitles him to relief; Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Thomas S. Beall, surviv-
ing executor of Aquilla Beall, former clerk of
Prince George's County Court be, and he is here-
by released from the payment of the balance of
interest on the State's claim against him, as sur-
viving executor as aforesaid, for which a judg-
ment was confessed in Prince George's County

Released from
the payment of
interest.

Court; Provided, the said Thomas S. Beall pay,
or cause to be paid, all costs which have or may
accrue on said judgment.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be, it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
