SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That an election
shall be held on the first Monday in April next,
at the Court House in said Village of Port Tobac-
co, under the provisions of the second section of
this act, and if a majority of said voters declare
by their votes in favor of accepting said act of in-
corporation, then the said election provided for in
said second section of this act shall be held as pro-
vided for; and the Commissioners so elected, shall
proceed to organize and carry out the provisions
of this act; and this act shall go into effect from
and after the passage of the same.

CHAPTER 167.

AN ACT to authorise the County Commissioners
of Kent County, to establish two new School
Districts in said county.

1, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Kent county, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, to establish and locate a new
school district, in the lower part of Broad Neck,
in the first election district of Kent county, and to
establish and locate a new school district, to lie
and be partly in the second election district,
and partly in the third election district in said
county, as set forth in the petition of Robert Rouse
and others.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said County
Commissioners be, and they are hereby directed
and required to direct an election for trustees to
manage said schools, and they are hereby direc-
ted and required to levy upon the taxable proper-
ty of said county, such a sum of money for each
of said new school districts as is now levied res-
pectively, for the use of primary schools in said
county, so soon as either of said new school dis-
tricts be established, it being the intent and
meaning of this act that said new school districts;
