who shall be appointed according to law, and
shall have full power to discharge all the duties,
have all the rights, and be subject to the same re-
sponsibilities of any justice or justices of the peace
now in existence in said district.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the next
general election, the voters of said district shall
he entitled to elect five justices of the peace for
said district, anything in any other act to the con-
trary notwithstanding.

Five justices

SEC 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 151.

Proviso.

AN ACT to authorise the Primary School Com-
missioners for Election District number Two, in
Calvert county, to lay out and establish a new
School District, in said Election District.

Passed Febru-
ary 20, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Primary School Com-
missioners for Election District No. 2, in Calvert
county, be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered to lay out and establish a new school
district in said election district, to be called School
District No. 7, according to the mode prescribed
in the act of eighteen hundred and fifty-four,
chapter one hundred and five; the said new school
district to be composed of parts of School Districts,
Nos. 2, 3 and 4, of said election district; and
when so laid out and established, the said new
school district shall be upon an equal footing with,
and entitled to, all the rights and privileges en-
joyed by the other school districts in said county.

SEC: 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.
