LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Board of Com-
missioners ap-
pointed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That George W.
Morgan, John M. Broome and Benjamin Tippett,
of St. Mary's county, are hereby appointed a board
of commissioners, for the purpose of re-organising
the aforesaid St. Mary's Female Seminary, with
power vested in said commissioners or a majority
of them to increase their board to the number of
fourteen, by giving a representation on said board
to each of the religious denominations in St.
Mary's county as far as practicable.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if there shall
be a vacancy in said board of Commissioners prior
to the increase of their number by declination,
death or otherwise, a majority of said Commis-
sioners shall have power to fill such vacancy.

Incorporated.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That when Geo. W.
Morgan, John M. Broome and Benjamin Tippett,
or a majority of them, shall have increased their
number as required by section the second of this
act, the said fourteen persons are hereby constitu-
ted a body politic and corporate, by the name, style
and title of the Trustees of the St. Mary's Female
Seminary, and by that name shall have succession
and shall have all the powers, rights and privi-
leges conferred by the act of eighteen hundred
and thirty-nine, chapter one hundred and ninety,
and of eighteen hundred and forty-five, chapter
two hundred and fifty-seven, and shall perform all
the duties required of the former trustees by the
aforesaid acts.

Property vest-
ed in Trustees.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That all the proper-
ty, real, personal and mixed, rights, credits and
claims, which were vested in the former Trustees,
under the aforesaid laws at the date of the passage
of this law, shall vest in the Trustees hereby in-
corporated, and their successors forever, for the
purposes declared in the said acts of Assembly,
and the former Trustees are hereby required to
deliver over, pay and transfer the same on de-
mand of the Trustees hereby incorporated.

In force.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
