and they or a majority of them are authorised and
empowered by virtue of this act, to contract for
and superintend the building of a Court House,
with all the necessary offices upon the public
grounds in the town of Bel-Air, in Harford coun-
ty, whereon the Court House recently destroyed
stood, and furnishing the said Court House and
offices when so constructed, with necessary cases
for the reception of the public records, and with
all the necessary furniture for the accommodation
of the Circuit Court for Harford county, members
of the bar and public officers, and with such
other things as their convenience may require ;
which Court House and offices, when so built and
furnished shall be under the control and superin-
tendence of the county Commissioners for Har-
ford county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners appointed by this act, or a majority
of them, shall have full power and authority to
sell and dispose of such part or parts of the re-
mains of the Court House recently destroyed by
fire, as they may deem proper, and apply the avails
arising therefrom to the construction and furnish-
ing the said Court House and offices; and to bor-
row from time to time, and upon such terms as
they deem proper, at a rate of interest not exceed-
ing six per cent, per annum, any sum or sums of
money that may be required and found necessary
for the construction and furnishing of the said

Court House and offices.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the county
Commissioners of Harford county are hereby au-
thorised and required to levy annually upon the
assessable property of Harford County such sum
or sums of money as they in their judgment may
deem best, not exceeding the sum of six-thousand
dollars, nor less than three thousand dollars, in
any one year, until the whole sum which the said
Commissioners or a majority of them may require
for the construction of said Court House and
offices shall have been levied and collected.

name of the

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all levies im-
posed or authorised by this act shall be levied
and imposed in the name of the said Commission-
ers appointed by this act, and payable only to
their order, or the order of a majority of them.
