and Directors of the Howard Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore, to make insurances to any
reasonable amount, not exceeding twenty thous-
and dollars, against loss or damage by fire, on all
kinds of property in the counties of this State,
as well as within the city of Baltimore.
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid
Company, may at any time they deem it advisa-
ble, change the location of their office to any part
of the city of Baltimore.
|
|
|
Optional.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That in case of loss
or damage on property insured , it shall be op-
tional with the Company, to pay the loss in
money, or to rebuild or repair the building or
buildings within ninety days; after giving notice
of their intention to do so, within twenty days
after having received proofs of loss or damage.

Repealed.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any part of
their charter conflicting with this act, be and the
same is hereby repealed,

AN ACT to authorise the County Commissioners
of Harford county, to adopt and use as evidence
of the ownership of assessable property in the
said county, for the purposes of taxation, the
assessment lists now in the hands of the several
Collectors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners
of Harford county, be and they are hereby autho-
rised, to adopt and use as evidence of the assessa-
ble property in Harford county, and of the value
and ownership thereof, for the pur poses of taxa-
tion, the assessment lists of the year eighteen
hundred and fifty-seven, now in the hands of the
Collectors, and the transcripts and copies of said
assessment lists, which may be made under the
