CHAPTER 76.

AN ACT entitled an act appropriating a sum of mo-
ney for the life of James G. Henning, Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Montgomery county.

Passed Mar.
6, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer is hereby required,
on the warrant of the Comptroller, to pay to James
G. Henning, or his order, ninety-five dollars and
thirty-one cents, being the amount, due him as Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Montgomery county by the
State of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 77.

In force.

AN ACT to allow a pension to Joseph Benson, a pri-
vate in the war of the Revolution, and appropria-
ting a sum of money for the payment thereof.

Passed Mar.

6, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Joseph Benson a pri-
vate in the American Revolution, be and he is
hereby allowed a pension equal to half pay of a pri-
vate, in consideration of his services in the said war.

sion.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the sum of two
hundred dollars, being equal to the half pay of a
private for five years, commencing from the first day
of January, eighteen hundred and fifty, is hereby ap-
propriated, and the Treasurer, upon the warrant of
the Comptroller, is hereby directed to pay the said
sum of money to Joseph Benson, on his order, and
annually hereafter, from the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and fifty-six, to pay to the said Jo-
seph Benson the sum of forty dollars during life.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.
