283. An act for the benefit of Moor N. Falls, President of the
company,owning the steamboat Herald, for services rendered the
State.

284. An act to cede to the United States, the jurisdiction of the
State of Maryland, in, to, and over part of Hog island, in the Po-
tomac river.

285. A further additional supplement to an act, entitled an act
to incorporate a company for the purpose of cutting and making a
canal between the river Delaware and Chesapeake bay, passed at
November session, seventeen hundred and ninety-nine, chapter
sixteen, and to enable said company to create a mortgage, and to
make valid certain proceedings therein mentioned.

286. An act to amend an act, passed January session, eighteen
hundred and fifty-three, chapter four hundred and nine, entitled

an act requiring new bonds to be given by the Clerk of Court of
Common Pleas, in Baltimore city, by the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Baltimore city, and by the Register of Wills of Balti-
more city.

287. An act to incorporate the Carroll's Island Company, of
Baltimore county.

288. An act to amend the act entitled, an act to establish a
House of Refuge for juvenile delinquents, and the supplements
thereto, and to authorise the appointment of managers thereof on

the part of the State in said House, and to give to the Judges of
the Circuit Conns for the several counties of this State the pow-

er to order minors to be removed to and confined in the Mouse of
Refuge, and to appropriate for the aid and benefit and support of
the House of Refuge the annual sum of ten thousand dollars for
five successive years.

289. An act in favor of the Western Maryland Railroad Com-
pany, ignoring and waiving on the part of the State all cause of
forfeiture, by reason of the said company's failing to comply with
any of the provisions of the original act incorporating the same,
passed at January session, eighteen hundred and fifty-two, chap-
ter three hundred and four, and further amending said original
act.

290. An act to incorporate the St. Martin's Inlet and Naviga-
tion Company.

291. An act to extend the time in which Thomas M. D. Ba-
den, keeper of the standards of weights and measures for Prince
George's county, may make his return in the Commissioners'
Court for said county.

292. A supplement to an act to incorporate a company for
building a bridge over Choptank river, at or near Denton Ferry,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and eleven, chap-
ter one hundred and thirty-nine, and supplements thereto.
