163. An act appropriating a sum of money to pay William
Cooke and George D. Tewksbury, commissioners to build a to-
bacco warehouse in the city of Baltimore, for their services.

164. An act relating to the grading and paving of North avenue
in the city of Baltimore, &c.

165. An act to refund to Martha Brown and Julianna Seegar,
of Queen Anne's county, certain taxes erroneously paid to collec-
tors of taxes in said county.

166. An act to authorise Charles S. Middleton, Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Prince George's county, to complete the alpha-
betical index of land records in his office, from the first day of
January, 1839, to the first of December, 1855, and the personal
records for the same length of time, which was left uncompleted
by his predecessors, and to authorise said clerk to keep up and
continue the record of the indexes in the same manner and form
as prescribed by law.

167. An act to appropriate a sum of money to pay George W.
Do well, late sheriff of Calvert county, for certain fees due him by
the State.

168. An act authorising the county commissioners of Frederick
county to make two polls in District No. 2 of said county.

169. An act to amend an act entitled, an act to amend and mod-
ify the primary school system of Charles county.

170. An act to alter, amend and repeal parts of the act entitled,
an act to establish primary schools in election districts numbers
three and four in Caroline county.

171. An act to authorise the county commissioners for Dor-
chester county to levy a sum of money to pay for the building of
a bridge across Slaughter Creek, from the main land to Taylor's
Island.

172. An act authorising the commissioners of Baltimore county,
if they in their judgment consider the claim just and fair, to levy
a tax upon the first election district of said county, as the same was
limited and defined on the first day of May, 1833, for the payment
of the debt contracted by the commissioners of public schools un-
der the act of 1832, chapter 287.

173. An act to empower Israel C. O'Neal, late sheriff of Fred-
erick county, further time to complete his collections.
174. An act authorising the county commissioners of Charles
county, to alter the lines dividing election districts in said county,
and form another election district.

175. An act entitled, an act to pay coroners' fees quarterly.

176. An act to give the consent of the State to the purchase of
certain lands in the city of Baltimore by the United States, and
for ceding to the United States, jurisdiction in and over the
