pany shall have no right to enter or continue upon
said land until it is paid. If the damages be redu-
ced, the owner shall pay back the amount demand-
ed, where the same has previously been received by
him, and if not so paid, judgment for said amount
shall be rendered by said court in favor of the said
company, the costs of said inquisition to be paid as
in other cases by the unsuccessful party.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said compa-
ny are hereby authorised to extend said" road south-
erly from the terminus of said Road in Talbot coun-
ty, near the town of Hillsborough, as now located,
to a point on the Potomac River, within the limits of

Charles or St. Mary's counties; Provided said exten-

route of any part of the said Road or branches,
shall cross any navigable water, such crossing may

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said compa-
ny may receive subscriptions to their capital stock,
specially restricted to any part or portion of said road
or branches, as they shall think proper, and proceed
to make the said portion, and may charge and re-
ceive lolls thereon when completed, as provided in
the fifteenth section of said charter.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the stock certi-
ficates provided for by section seventh, of said charter,
may include one or more shares, at the option of the
holder.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the said compa-
ny be authorised to aid in the construction of any
roads or bridges not connected directly with their
said road but for the purpose of bringing business
thereto, either by subscription to stock or otherwise,
