Resolved, That the Governor be requested to
transmit a copy of these resolutions to Doctor Elisha
Kent Kane, his officers, and to the Senate and House
of Representatives of the United States.

Resolution in favor of the legal representatives of Sam-
uel Godman, an officer in the Maryland line during
the revolutionary war, authorising the grant to him
of two hundred acres of vacant land lying to the
westward of Fort Cumberland, in Allegany county.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioner of the land office, be and he
is hereby authorised and required to issue to legal
representatives of Captain Samuel Godman, an offi-
cer of the Maryland line during the revolutionary
war, a common warrant for two hundred acres of va-
cant land, lying to the westward of Fort Cumberland,
in Allegany county; and to issue a patent for the said
quantity of acres of land upon a certificate of the
survey thereof duly returned, without receiving pay-
ment or proof of payment of any composition money
therefor.
