SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That nothing contain-
ed herein shall be construed as granting banking
privileges to said corporation, or exempting their pro-
perty and effects from general taxation.

Reservation.
|
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself, the right to alter or annul this act
of incorporation, whenever the public interest may
require it.

AN ACT for the relief of certain Mutual Fire Insu-
rance Companies of the State therein mentioned.
|
|
|
Released from
taxation.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Mutual Fire Insurance Com-
pany in Baltimore county, the Mutual Fire Insurance
Company in Harford county, the Mutual Fire Insu-
rance Company in Montgomery county, the Mutual
Fire Insurance in Washington county, the Mutual
Fire Insurance Company in Cecil county, the Mutual
Fire Insurance Company in Frederick county, the
Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Somerset county,
and the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Kent
county, be and they are hereby released from all tax-
ation.

To take effect.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into force upon its passage, and any act contrary or
inconsistent with the provisions of this act is hereby
repealed.
