short copy of the judgment or decree by him or
them obtained, attested by the clerk of the court be-
fore which the same is had.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Picked Min-
ing Company.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, that the Pickell Mining Company, since its
organization, hath required additional lands, and
hath discovered upon its properly very extensive
beds of iron ore, of superior quality; and that to
enable the company to obtain the means necessary
to erect and carry on works for the extensive man-
ufacturing of iron, as proposed by said company,
it is desirable that the capital stock of the said
company should be increased; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the stockholders of the Pickell
Mining Company be allowed, and they are hereby
authorised, to increase the capital stock of said com-
pany to an amount not exceeding five hundred thou-
sand dollars, over and above the capital stock author-
ised by the charier of said company, granted at Jan-
uary session, eighteen hundred and fifty-three — the
additional stock to be divided into shares of twenty-
five dollars each.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the stockholders
of said company shall be authorised to increase the
number of directors of said company to eleven, and
from and after the acceptance of this act, by a major-
tiy of said stockholders, that number of directors,
instead of seven, as provided in the original charier,
shall be elected.
