CHAPTER 312.

|
AN ACT to incorporate the town of Trappe, in
Talbot county.
|

WHEREAS, sundry inhabitants of the town of
Trappe, in Talbot county, have prayed that the
said town may be incorporated; and the request of
the petitioners appearing reasonable, therefore,
|

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the town of Trappe, in Talbot
county, be and it is hereby made and constituted an
incorporate town by the name of Trappe; and the
.inhabitants thereof a body corporate and politic by
the name and style of the commissioners of Trappe,
and as such shall have succession, and may by the
said name and style sue and be sued, plead and be
impleaded; may make and use a corporate seal, and
the same may break, alter or renew at pleasure, and
may make and enforce all such laws and by-laws, rules
and regulations for the government and well being of
said town; not being repugnant to the constitution
or laws of this State, or of the United States, as may
be deemed necessary to good order and advantage of
said town.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Edward M. Hard-
castle, Charles R. Mullikin, S. P. Dickinson, Isaac
W. Jump and Robert H. Kemp, be and they are
hereby appointed commissioners to carry into effect
this act of incorporation, and to manage and direct
the affairs of the said town until the first annual elec-
tion, and until their successors are appointed or their
places supplied as hereinafter provided, and that they
be and are hereby constituted the first board of com-
missioners of Trappe, with all the powers and duties
assigned to said commissioners by this act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the bounds and
limits of Trappe, shall be as follows to wit; begin-
ning at a locust tree standing at the north-east cor-
ner of E. P. Mullikin's house-yard, and running from
thence to the north-east corner of C. R. Mullikin's
barn, thence with a straight line touching the north-
east corner of Robert H. Kemp's garden till it meets
a line drawn from the south-west corner of Mrs. Ra-
chael Bowdell's lot, to include the Methodist Protes-
tant Church; from the corner of Mrs. Rachael Bow-
