said district, to be paid semi-annually, and to a pro rata
proportion for a less time than four months; and in ad-
dition to the regular annual appropriation, if any ar-
rears shall stand to the credit of any district, by reason
of said district's not having had a school for the prescri-
bed time, the said district shall be entitled to a pro rata
proportion of said arrears whenever a school shall be
kept in said district for more than four months.

Power to

change the
bounds.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said Board shall
have power to alter and change the bounds of the sever-
al school districts, and to form the districts anew, by in-
creasing or diminishing the number thereof, and to divide
any one or more of the several districts into new dis-
tricts, whenever it shall appear to them proper to do so ;
and when such changes are made to distribute in con-
formity therewith the annual appropriations aforesaid
amongst the several districts according to the basis pre-
scribed for the distribution thereof by this act.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force from and after the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 24.

AN ACT to incorporate the Dulaney's Valley and Tow-
sontown Turnpike Company in Baltimore county.

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a company be, and the same is hereby
incorporated to make a Turnpike road, beginning for
the same on the south-west side of the Great Gunpow-
der Falls, about one hundred feet from the said south-
west bank of said Gunpowder Falls, and running and oc-
cupying a part of the old York road, leaving the present
county road leading from said Falls to Towsontown ;
the said turnpike company's road to intersect the Bal-
timore and York Turnpike Road at Towsontown.

Books to
be opened.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for the making of
said road, subscription books shall be opened for a cap-
ital stock of ($12,000) twelve thousand dollars, in
shares of twenty-five dollars each, at Towsontown, Bal-
timore county, by or under the directions of all, or a ma-
