CHAPTER 116.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay,
Walter W. W. Bowie, of Prince George's county,
for legal services rendered the State, in the trial
of the cause of the State of Maryland vs. B. J.
Gardner, in the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County.

Passed Mar.
8, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of one hundred dollars
be and it is hereby appropriated, to pay Walter W.
W. Bowie, of Prince George's county, for legal ser-
vices rendered the State, in the trial of the cause of
the State vs. B. J. Gardner in the Circuit Court for
Prince George's county, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to pay to the said Bowie,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, the said sum of
money as compensation for said services.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 117.

In force.

AN ACT amendatory of the act passed at the pre-
sent Session, and entitled an act to lay out and
establish a new election district in Somerset coun-
ty, to be called election district number fourteen or
Lawson's district.

Passed Mar.

8, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the second section of the act
passed at the present session, entitled an act to lay
out and establish a new election district in Somerset
county, to be called election district number fourteen
or Lawson's district, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

Second section
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundaries of
the said election district, shall be as follows: to wit,
beginning at the head of Coulbourn's creek, thence
