AN ACT to change the name of George Smith, of
Washington county, to William Clarke Funk.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of George Smith, an orphan
minor of Washington county in the State of Maryland,
be and the same is hereby changed to that of William
Clarke Funk.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

AN ACT amendatory of an act passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter two
hundred and thirty-one, entitled an act to incorporate
the Baltimore and Cuba Smelting and Mining Compa-
ny, by authorising said company to increase its capi-
tal stock and number of Directors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Baltimore and Cuba Smelting and
Mining Company be and it is hereby authorised and em-
powered to increase its capital stock from four hundred
thousand dollars, the amount limited by the third sec-
tion of said act, to eight hundred thousand dollars; said
enlargement of capital stock to be made pursuant to
the provisions of its original charter.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the number of Direc-
tors in said company may be increased from five, the
number prescribed by section five of said act, to ten.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.
