up at the door of the court house of the county in
which such suit may be brought, at least ten days
before the commencement of the term.

Contractor
may sue com-
missioners.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That if the said con-
tractor shall be of opinion that he has in all respects
well and faithfully complied with the terms of the
contract, and the County Commissioners for either
or both of said counties shall refuse to pay the a-
mount contracted for, the said contractor shall be at
liberty to sue the County Commissioners so refusing
in the Circuit Court of their respective counties
which shall be brought and tried as in the case in
which the said contractor is sued, and if he obtain
judgment it shall be the duty of the said County Com-
missioners immediately to pay over the amount so
recovered.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT to repeal an act passed at January session
eighteen hundred and fifty-four, chapter one hun-
dred and ninety-four, entitled, an act for the bet-
ter protection of slave holders in the several coun-
ties therein mentioned.
|

|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the act entitled, an act for the
better protection of slaveholders in the several coun-
ties therein mentioned passed at January session
eighteen hundred and fifty-four, chapter one hundred
and ninety-four, be and the same his hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
