company to do so, and then they may apply the
whole or any part of such net earnings or profits, at
their discretion, in the work of finishing other por-
tions of said railroad.

May establish
working con-
nexions.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Metro-
politan Railroad Company may form or establish
working connexions with the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad Company at any point not exceeding the
distance of one mile from the place or places where
it is authorised to cross the Baltimore and Ohio Rail-
road.

Money — how
applied.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all money obtained
upon subscriptions to the stock of the said Metropol-
itan Railroad Company, paid by the citizens or res-
idents of the respective counties or cities in the State
of Maryland, within which its railroad may be loca-
ted, shall be exclusively expended in locating, con-
structing and completing the parts of its said railroad
lying within the counties or cities to which the sub-
scribers respectively belong, unless they shall file
their written consent with the President and Direc-
tors of the company, leaving it to their discretion to
expend the money where and how they please for
the best interests of the company.

Repealed.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all parts of the
original act to which this is amendatory which are
inconsistent with this amendment be and the same
are hereby repealed.

Time extend-
ed.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the time within
which the said Metropolitan Railroad Company is re-
quired to complete its said railroad as limited by the
twentieth section of the original act, shall be and
is hereby extended so as to include the period of
ten years from the commencement of its said rail-
road.

In force.
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day on which it may be passed.
