Senator Friend asked that the rules be suspended in order to report
the following bill and two-thirds of the Senators elected, voting in th6
affirmative, the rules were suspended by yeas and nays as follows:

Friend, Goodman, James, Jewell, Malkus, Mason, Mattingly, Monroe, Mrs. Nock, North,
Northrop, Phipps, Phoebus, Ramsburg, Redden, See, Shipley, Turnbull, Weinroth,
Wheatley.                                                                                                     Total—29

Negative—None

The rules being suspended, Mr. Friend for the Select Committee
reported favorably, with amendments,

House Bill No. 10—By the Garrett County Delegation:

Subject: AUTHORIZING AND EMPOWERING THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF GARRETT COUNTY TO BORROW A CERTAIN
SUM OF MONEY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ERECTING AND EQUIP-
PING SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND BUILDING ADDITIONS TO EXIST-
ING SCHOOL BUILDINGS, ETC.

Amendments to House Bill No. 10
By Senator Friend:

Amendment No. 1. In lines 3 through 6 of the title of the Third Read-
ing File bill, strike out beginning with the words "a sum of" in line 3 down
to and including the numerals "1956" in line 6 and insert in lieu thereof
the words "Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($550,000)".

Which amendment was read and adopted.

Amendment No. 2. In lines 5 through 8 of Section 1 on page 1 of
the Third Reading File bill, strike out beginning with the words "or sums
of" in line 5 down to and including the numerals "1956" in line 8, and
Insert in lieu thereof the words "not to exceed Five Hundred Fifty Thou-
sand Dollars ($550,000)".

Which amendment was read and adopted.

Amendment No. 3. In lines 18 through 21 of Section 2 on page 2 of
the Third Reading File bill strike out beginning with the words "a sum of"
in line 18 down to and including the numerals "1956" in line 21 and insert
in lieu thereof the words "Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($550,000)".

Which amendment was read and adopted.
Favorable report adopted.

The bill was read the second time and ordered passed to its third
reading.

Two-thirds of all the Senators elected, voting in the affirmative, the
rules were suspended by yeas and nays as follows, and bill put upon its
third reading and final passage.
