sub-title 'University of Maryland', as said section was amended by Chap-
ter ...... (House Bill 70) of the Acts of 1956; and to ordain a new Sec-
tion 243 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section so repealed,
authorizing the inclusion of dormitory facilities and living accommoda-
tions in a student union building, heretofore authorized to be constructed
in Baltimore City, and authorizing the University of Maryland to receive
and accept grants, contributions and assistance in connection with the
facilities authorized to be constructed; said Section 243 having been so

amended by Chapter ...... (House Bill 70) of the Acts of the General

Assembly at its Regular Session of 1956 and being here re-enacted with-
out change, from said Chapter...... (House Bill 70) of the Regular Session

of 1956, in order to resolve any doubts about the validity of the considera-
tion of said Chapter...... (House Bill 70) at the Regular Session of 1956."

Senate Bill No. 5—By Senator James:

A Bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower the County Com-
missioners of Harford County to borrow upon the faith and credit of
Harford County a sum of money not to exceed One Million Five Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) at a rate of interest not to exceed five
per centum (5%), and to issue notes and/or bonds therefor, for the pur-
pose of erecting and equipping school buildings and building additions
to existing school buildings, and equipping same; and providing for the
levying of taxes by said County Commissioners to repay the loan and
interest thereon, and providing that said loan and every part thereof and
the interest payable thereon, shall remain exempt from State, county and
municipal taxation."

Senate Bill No. 6—By Senator Turnbull:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 67 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1955
Edition), being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title 'Baltimore County', said section being in 'Title 4, County Commis-
sioners' and being under the sub-heading 'Borrowing Power', relating to
the power of Baltimore County to borrow money and incur indebtedness
and to the amount of such indebtedness in relation to the assessed value of
all real and personal property subject to assessment for unlimited taxa-
tion by said County."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules.

Senate Bill No. 7—By the President:

A Bill entitled "An Act making an emergency appropriation for the
payment of certain expenses incident to the membership of certain officers
and employees of the University of Maryland in the system of Federal Old
Age and Survivors Insurance, commonly known as the Social Security
System."
