Adoption of Senate Rules
By Senator Turnbull :
Ordered by Senator Turnbull that the Rules of the Senate as adopted
for the Regular Session of 1956 be and the same are hereby adopted for
the Senate for the Special Session beginning on Thursday, March 8, 1956.
Amendment to Senate Rules
Ordered, by the Senate of Maryland that Rule No. 90 as adopted for
the Special Session beginning on March 8, 1956, be and the same is hereby
isuspended for the duration of said Special Session; and be it further
Ordered, that a new rule be and the same is hereby added to the Rules
of the Senate as adopted for the Special Session beginning March 8, 1956,
to be known as Rule No. 93 and to read as follows:
93. Every bill introduced into the Senate during the Special Session
beginning on March 8, 1956, shall be referred to the Rules Committee.
The Rules Committee shall not report to the floor of the Senate any bill
except those falling within one of the following categories: (1) bills
recommended to the General Assembly by the Governor of Maryland; (2)
bills appropriating funds for the expenses of this Special Session; and (3)
bills involving local bond issues. This rule shall not be suspended except
by unanimous consent of all senators present; and be it further
Ordered, that said Rule No. 93 shall be effective only for the duration
of the Special Session beginning on March 8, 1956, and with no further
action required of the Senate shall be abrogated and null and void at the
end of said Special Session.

President of the Senate during the regular session of 1956 be and they are
hereby continued to serve during the special session of 1956; and be it

fill any vacancy or vacancies that may exist in said committees by reason
of death, resignation or any other manner.
