To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, Blanchard Randall, Secretary of State of the State op
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 210 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) DO
HEREBY certify, That at a Special Referendum Election held in
Harford County, Maryland, on June 27, 1955, an Act known as
Chapter 364 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1955,
was submitted to the voters of Harford County, Maryland, for their
adoption or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 364 of the Acts
of 1955, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to add Section 19 (e-1) and Section 20 (f-1) to Article
2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and Liquor
Licenses," providing for the sale of so-called mixed drinks in
clubs and restaurants in Harford County, establishing licenses
for such purposes, relating generally to the licenses, fees and
laws applicable to the sales of alcoholic beverages at clubs and
restaurants in Harford County, and making the effectiveness
of this Act subject to a referendum."
AND I DO certify, that at such election 3,574 votes were cast to
favor of the adoption of Chapter 364 of the Acts of 1955, and 5,215
votes were cast against the adoption of the said Chapter 364, and a
majority of the votes being cast against the adoption of Chapter 364
of the Acts of 1955, the said Act has, therefore, failed of ratification.
