sub-title "Hospitals", providing for the exemption of County
Homes or County Almshouses from the effect of said Article.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 517 of Article 43 of the Code of Public Laws of Mary-
land, title "Health", sub-title "Hospitals", be repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, to read as follows:
517. (Definitions.) The following terms used in this sub-title
are hereby defined as follows:
"Hospitals" as herein used means any institution which maintains
and operates facilities for the care and/or the treatment of two (2)
or more non-related persons as patients suffering mental or physical
ailments, but shall not be construed to include any dispensary or
first aid treatment facilities maintained by any commercial or indus-
trial plant, educational institutes or convents; or any county home
or almshouse.
"Person" shall include any person, partnership, association or cor-
poration of any State, County or local government unit and any
division, board or agency thereof.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 83 of Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic
Beverages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale", said new sub-
section to be known as Sub-section (bb) and to follow immedi-
ately after Sub-section (b) thereof, relating to the hours for the
consumption of alcoholic beverages in Allegany County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Section 83 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale", said
new sub-section to be known as Sub-section (bb) and to follow
immediately after Sub-section (b) thereof and to read as follows:
