district, No. 3; Newark district, No. 4; St. Martin's district, No. 5 ;
Atkinson's district, No. 7; Stockton district, No. 8; [West Berlin
district, No. 9;] and Ocean City District (No. 10) as created by
Chapter 269 of the Acts of 1933. Districts Nos. 1, [3,] 4, 5, 8 [, 9]
and 10 shall retain their present bounds and limits. Coulbourne's
district, No. 6, is abolished. All that part of said district lying to
the west of Nassawango Creek is hereby added to District No. 7,
and all that part of District No. 6 lying to the east of said Creek
is hereby added to Election District No. 2. West Berlin District
No. 9 is abolished as such and is hereby added to Berlin District
No. S.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 584
(Senate Bill 368)

AN ACT to repeal Section 216 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Miscel-
laneous Provisions", repealing certain obsolete and duplicating
provisions relating to police canvass of removed voters.

WHEREAS, Section 216 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title Elections", sub-title "Miscellaneous
Provisions", has become obsolete in that it duplicates the effect of
the biennial canvass elsewhere provided for in said Article; and

WHEREAS, said section imposes upon the Police Department of
Baltimore City wasteful and time-consuming non-police duties to
the detriment of its proper function as a police department; now
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 216 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Miscellaneous Provi-
sions", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

Approved April 25, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 68 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Elections", sub-title "Elections", further clarifying the form
