all transfers of property in Charles County and shall keep the same
office hours as the Clerk of the Circuit Court of said county .J

The Clerk to the County Assessor shall act as transfer clerk and
shall enter on the assessment books all transfers of property in
Charles County and shall keep such hours as shall be set by the
County Commissioners.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 553
(House Bill 874)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section (g)
of Section 54 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Application
for License", relating to the requirements in an application for an
alcoholic beverage license in Howard County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section (g) of Section 54 of Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title "Application for License", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

54.

(g) (Howard County.) In Howard County the certificate shall
be signed by at least three citizens who shall be owners of real estate
and registered voters of the district in which the business is to be
conducted, setting forth a statement that the qualifying applicant,
or applicants, as the case may be, is personally known to them and
has been a resident of the [district] County for two years next pre-
ceding the presentation to them of the application.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

Approved April 18, 1955.
