CHAPTER 550
(House Bill 858)
AN ACT to add a new subsection to Section 96 of Article 52 of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Justices of the
Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", said new subsection
to be known as sub-section (e) and to follow immediately after sub-
section (d) of said section of the Code, relating to the costs in a
criminal case before a Justice of the Peace in Charles County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Section 96 of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", said
new sub-section to be known as Sub-section (e) and to follow im-
mediately after Sub-section (d) of said section of the Code, and to
read as follows:
96.
(e) In Charles County, in any criminal case before a Justice of the
Peace, the total costs, for both the sheriff and the Justice of the Peace,
shall be Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7.50). All such costs
collected by any Justice of the Peace shall be remitted by him monthly
to the County Commissioners of Charles County except those to be
remitted to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles as set forth in Sub-
section (a) above.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
