rent year, the humane officer shall notify the County Treasurer of
that fact, and the County Treasurer in turn within 24 hours shall
notify the owner of the dog of such seizure. If, within 5 days follow-
ing such seizure, the owner has not appeared to claim his dog, paying
therefore a fee of $1.00 to cover costs, the humane officer shall destroy
the dog in such humane manner as he shall determine. Any dog found
running at large in Allegany County with neither a license number
nor the name and address of the owner attached to his neck shall be
destroyed by the humane officer after a lapse of 5 days from the time
of the seizure. The Board of County Commissioners is hereby au-
thorized and empowered from time to time to adopt and promulgate
all necessary rules and regulations for carrying out the provisions
of this sub-section, and expressly including the amount of fee which
is to be charged for each such license issued and sold under the pro-
visions herein contained.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 546

(House Bill 846)

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County",
to be under sub-title "Cresaptown Special Taxing Area or Dis-
trict", said new sections to be known as Sections 124T and 124U,
inclusive, and to follow immediately after Section 124S of said
Article, to authorize, empower, and direct the said "Cresaptown
Civic Improvement Association", a corporation, to provide for the
construction, maintenance and operation of street lights within
the said "Cresaptown Special Taxing Area or District", and to
provide for the levy of taxes for the payment of the cost of said
street lights in said District, and for other purposes; and providing
for a referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That two new sections be and they are hereby added to Article 1
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Allegany County", to be under sub-title "Cresaptown Special Taxing
Area or District", said new sections to be known as Sections 124T
to 124U, inclusive, and to follow immediately after Section 124S of
said Article, and to read as follows:

124T. (a) The Board of County Commissioners of Allegany County
are authorized, empowered and directed to levy and cause to be
collected from the property owners at the time of the County Tax
