CHAPTER 524

(House Bill 707)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County, 1948 Edition, title "Public Works", sub-title
"Sewer and Water", said new section to be known as 354B and to
follow immediately after Section 354A thereof, allowing levy of
front foot benefit charges against properties which do not bind
upon the street, road, lane, alley or right-of-way in which a water
main or sewer has been built to which the property owner seeks
to connect his property.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Baltimore County, 1948 Edition, title "Public Works",
sub-title "Sewer and Water", said new section to be known as 354B
and to follow immediately after Section 354A thereof, to read as
follows:

354B. The Commissioners shall at any time permit a connection
with a water main or sewer by a property owner whose property does
not abut on the street, road, lane, alley or right-of-way in which said
water main or sewer has been built and who has not previously
thereto paid a benefit charge for the construction of said water main
or sewer, provided said Commissioners shall classify said property
and determine a front foot charge to be paid by said property owner
as though his property abutted upon said water main or sewer; and
in the event of such connection being made, said property owner and
said property as to all charges, rates and benefits shall stand in every
respect in the same position as if the said property abutted on the
street, road, lane, alley or right-of-way in which the water main or
sewer has been built.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
