AN ACT to add new Sections 213A to 213G, inclusive, to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition),
being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Circuit Court", said new sec-
tions to follow immediately after Section 213 thereof and to be
under the sub-heading "Juvenile Probation Department"; and to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 55 of Article 26 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Courts",
sub-title "Juvenile Causes", generally relating to the Juvenile Pro-
bation Department of Anne Arundel County and amending the
state-wide laws concerning probation officers of Juvenile Courts,
in order to conform with the provisions established for Anne
Arundel County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 213A to 213G, inclusive, be and they are hereby
added to the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County
(1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Circuit Court",
said new sections to follow immediately after Section 213 thereof and
to be under the sub-heading "Juvenile Probation Department", and
to read as follows:
Juvenile Probation Department
213A. Establishment. There is hereby created and established
the Anne Arundel County Juvenile Probation Department (herein-
after referred to in this sub-title as "Department").
213B. Function and Duties of the Department.
(a) It shall be the function of the Department to act as an adjunct
to and administrative staff for the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel
County, sitting as a Juvenile Court, for the purpose of assisting the
Court in its treatment of those persons, particularly children, who
come under its jurisdiction, to the primary end that they may be
restored to society as properly adjusted and useful individuals.
