SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 220 (b) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Absentee Voting
in Municipal Elections", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:

220.

(b) The time for holding a municipal primary election shall
be on the Tuesday which is nine weeks or sixty-three days prior to
the Tuesday next after the first Monday in May of the year in
which the municipal elections in the City of Baltimore are to be
held. Any person wishing to file a certificate of candidacy in any
such municipal primary election shall file his certificate of can-
didacy with the Board of Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore
City at least [sixty (60)] fifty-five (55) days before the date
on which the said municipal primary election is to be held for the
year [.] and no candidate shall file or withdraw after the said fifty-
five day period.
However, all the provisions of Section 63, except
those that are inconsistent with the provisions set out in this new
sub-title, shall continue in full force and effect, and those provisions
of Section 63 which are inconsistent with this sub-title are hereby
suspended for as long as this sub-title may be effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 460
(Senate Bill 547)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 225 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Elections", sub-title "Absentee Voting in Municipal Elections in
Baltimore City", relating generally to the printing of absentee
ballots.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 225 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Absentee Voting in Mu-
nicipal Elections in Baltimore City", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows:

225. In case of any election that may be held under this sub-title,
said ballot shall be printed not less than [fifty-five] fifty days prior
to the date of any primary election and not less than fifty days prior
to the date of any general election, and shall contain only the names
of those candidates properly filed with the Board of Supervisors of
Elections in the City of Baltimore at least [sixty (60)] fifty-five (55)
