said new section to the known as Section 21A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 21 thereof, relating to the compensation
of the auditor in Carroll County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 16 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Chancery",
sub-title "Auditor", said new section to be known as Section 21A,
to follow immediately after Section 21 thereof, and to read as
follows:

21A. In Carroll County, the auditor shall be allowed such com-
pensation as may be allowed by the Court to reasonably compensate
him for his services, but in no case shall such compensation be less
than Fifteen Dollars ($15.00).

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 51
(Senate Bill 125)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement), title "Crimes
and Punishments", said new section to be known as Section 177
and to be under the new sub-title "Firearms", to follow immedi-
ately after Section 176 thereof, relating to the carrying of fire-
arms while intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or any
narcotic drug.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement),
title "Crimes and Punishments", said new section to be known as
Section 177, to be under the new sub-title "Firearms", and to follow
immediately after Section 176 thereof, and to read as follows:

177. It shall be unlawful for a person to carry any firearm for
the purpose of hunting any wild game, bird or creature, while
intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or any narcotic drug.
Any person so doing shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction before any justice of the peace shall pay a fine of not less
than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) and the costs.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

Approved March 7, 1955.
