enact, with amendments, Section 142 and 146 (r) of said Article
and sub-title, abolishing the present Board of License Commis-
sioners of St. Mary's County, providing that the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Mary's County shall ex officio constitute the
County Board of License Commissioners and establishing the
compensation of the members of the Board and of certain em-
ployees of the Board of License Commissioners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 139 (d) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Boards
of License Commissioners", be and it is hereby repealed; and that
Sections 142 and 146 (r) of said Article and sub-title be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
142. (County Commissioners Ex Officio.) The respective Boards
of County Commissioners shall ex officio constitute the Boards of
License Commissioners in Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Gar-
rett, Howard, [and] Kent and St, Mary's Counties.
146.
(r) (St. Mary's County.) In St. Mary's County, the Chairman
of said Board shall receive as compensation the sum of [four Hun-
dred Dollars ($400.00)] Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) per year.
Each of the two other members of the Board shall receive as compen-
sation the sum of [Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00)] Five Hundred
Dollars ($500.00).

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
SHALL TAKE EFFECT JUNE 1, 1955.
