ment as such County Road Superintendent. He shall receive [a]
such compensation [of not more than four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00) annually] as may be [provided] mid SET by the County
Commissioners, payable monthly. Said County Road Superintendent
shall qualify within thirty days after his appointment by the County
Commissioners by subscribing to the oath as required by Article 1,
Section 6, of the Constitution of the State of Maryland, and upon
such qualification shall execute in favor of the County Commissioners
of Howard County a corporate bond in the sum of One Thousand
Dollars for the faithful performance of his duties. In case of vacancy
in the office of said County Road Superintendent caused by death,
resignation or otherwise the County Commissioners shall within
thirty days appoint some competent person having the above quali-
fications as County Road Superintendent for such unexpired term
caused by such vacancy.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Roads", to be known as Section 1337A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 1337 of said Code, authorizing the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County to construct, maintain,
operate, incur debt and assess taxes for roadways, alleys, curbs,
sidewalks, gutters and storm drainage incident thereto in said
Prince George's County outside of the boundaries of the incorpo-
rated towns or cities and Special Improvement Districts and re-
lating generally to the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Roads", to be known as Section 1337A
to follow immediately after Section 1337 of said Code, and to read as
follows:
1337A. (a). The County Commissioners of Prince George's County
are hereby authorized to construct roadways, alleys, curbs, sidewalks,
gutters and storm drainage incident to any of said construction in
said Prince George's County outside of the boundaries of the in-
