CHAPTER 366
(House Bill 407)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 277 of
Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon High-
ways", exempting certain vehicles or trailers transporting crew
shells from the maximum overall length for motor vehicles in this
State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 277 of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehi-
cles Upon Highways", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:
277. (Length of Vehicles.) No vehicle or combination of vehicles
including the load thereon shall exceed 55 feet in length inclusive of
front and rear bumpers; except that any utility poles being trans-
ported by or for any public utility company shall not be subject to
the limitations provided in this section as to over-all length, and
further provided that piling shall not be subject to the limitations
provided in this section as to the overall length , and provided further
that vehicles or trailers transporting boats or vessels commonly
known as crew or rowing shells for use in inter scholastic or inter-
collegiate rowing contests shall not be subject to the limitations of
this section as to overall length.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1954 Supplement),
title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 2. formation of
Boards", relating to the composition of the Board of Education
for Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 12C of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1954 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 2.
formation of Boards", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments to read as follows:
