being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Roads", as said section
was amended by Chapter 712 of the Acts of 1953, relating to the
powers of the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County to
regulate traffic and motor vehicles in the county and providing
penalties therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 455 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel
County (1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Roads",
as said section was amended by Chapter 712 of the Acts of 1953, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

455. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, with
respect to streets, highways, bridges and property under their juris-
diction and within the reasonable exercise of police power, are hereby
authorized and empowered to:

(1)   Regulate the standing or parking vehicles.

(2)   Regulate traffic by means of police officers or traffic control
devices.

(3)   Designate particular streets or highways as one-way highways
and require that all vehicles thereon be moved in one specific direc-
tion.

(4)   Regulate the speed of vehicles.

(5)   Designate any intersection as a stop intersection and require
all vehicles to stop at one or more entrances to such intersections.

(6)  Provide penalties for violations of any regulations promul-
gated by the County Commissioners under the provisions of this
section, said penalties to be not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor
more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for each violation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1955.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", said new section to be known as Section 271 A,
