CHAPTER 338
(House Bill 230)

AN ACT to add Section 99 (c) to Article 2B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title "Hours and Days for Sales", said new section to follow im-
mediately after Section 99 (b) thereof, specifying the provisions
applicable in Prince George's County for the consumption of alco-
holic beverages during specified hours on certain premises and in
certain places and establishing penalties for the violation of such
provisions and also penalties applicable to the owner, operator,
manager, waiter, server or employee of the said premises or placesr
WHO KNOWINGLY PERMIT SUCH CONSUMPTION.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Bever-
ages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale", said new section to be
known as Section 99 (c), to follow immediately after Section 99 (b)
thereof, and to read as follows:

99. (c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 83 of this
Article, in Prince George's County between the hours of 2:00 A. M.
and 6:00 A. M. on any day,

no
person shall consume any alcoholic beverages on any premises open
to the general public, any place of public entertainment, any premises
occupied
REGULARLY by a private club or organization, or any
place at which set-ups or other component parts of mixed alcoholic
drinks are served or sold
DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. Any
person found consuming any alcoholic beverage on any such prem-
ises or in any such place during the hours specified shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
fined not more than $50.00 and not less than $5.00. The owner,
operator, manager, waiter, server or employee of any such premises
or any such place shall not knowingly permit such consumption on
those premises or in that place during the hours specified; and any
owner, operator or
, manager, WAITER, SERVER OR EMPLOYEE
of any such premises or any such place who shall knowingly permit
such consumption during the hours specified shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to the
penalties provided in Section 188 of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
