warded to the office of the Sheriff of Wicomico County or to such
office as said Sheriff may designate, and such records shall be kept
in a separate file marked "Dog Vaccination Records" for a period of
two (2) years from the date appearing on the same, after which
time said records may be destroyed.

29C. It shall be the duty of the Sheriff of Wicomico County to
enforce the provisions of this sub-title, and all dogs not vaccinated
in July of each year hereafter and all dogs brought into Wicomico
County from any other County or State and not impounded or kept
on a leash as heretofore provided in this sub-title, and the owners
thereof not being able to produce satisfactory evidence of prior vac-
cination within the past thirty (30) days, shall be picked up and
placed in a county dog pound, which said pounds shall be maintained
by the said Sheriff, and if said dog is not claimed within five (5)f
days after being picked up, it shall be destroyed, and if claimed by
the owner thereof within the time aforesaid, the owner shall pay
such sum for board and care as the Sheriff shall determine reason-
able, but said dog must be vaccinated as hereinbefore provided be-
fore being released in any event.

29D. The Sheriff in the enforcement of this sub-title, is empow-
ered and authorized to employ such additional special deputy sheriffs,
with the consent of the County Commissioners, as may be deemed
necessary for the enforcement of the provisions of this sub-title, and
the County Commissioners are authorized and directed to reimburse
said Sheriff for his actual expense in enforcing the provisions of this
sub-title, including the payment of the salary of any special deputies
appointed for that purpose.

29E. Any person violating or refusing to comply with any of the
provisions of this sub-title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof before any Justice of the Peace of said
County or in the Circuit Court for said County, shall be fined a sum
of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Twenty-five
Dollars ($25.00), or shall be imprisoned in the County Jail for not
more than thirty (30) days, or shall be both fined and imprisoned, in
the discretion of the Court. It shall be the duty of the State's Attor-
ney and the Sheriff of Wicomico County to prosecute all persons
found violating this law or refusing to comply with its provisions.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THE PRO-
VISIONS OF THIS ACT ARE DECLARED TO BE IN ADDITION
TO AND NOT IN SUBSTITUTION OF THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTIONS 200 TO 207, INCLUSIVE, OF ARTICLE 56 OF THE
ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1951 EDITION), AS
AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME. THE ENACTMENT OF
THIS ACT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS REPEALING OR
MODIFYING IN ANY WAY THE SAID PROVISIONS CON-
TAINED IN ARTICLE 56.
