Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County", sub-title "Fire
Companies", as said section was amended by Chapter 288 of the Acts
of 1953, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
122. The County Commissioners of Frederick County are author-
ized and directed to levy on the assessable property of Frederick
County for the year £1953] 1955 and annually thereafter the sum of
[$15, 650] $19, 100 to be paid on or before the first day of July, [1953]
1955 and annually thereafter on or before the first day of January
in each and every year; $500 of said sum to the Treasurer of the
Independent Hose Company of Frederick, $500 of said sum to the
Treasurer of the Junior Steam Fire Engine Company of Frederick,
$500 of said sum to the Treasurer of the United Steam Fire Engine
Company of Frederick, $1, 650 of said sum to the Treasurer of the
Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company of Brunswick, $1, 650 of said
sum to the Treasurer of the Vigilant Hose Company of Emmitsburg,
$1, 550 of said sum to the Treasurer of the Guardian Hose Company
of Thurmont, $1, 550 of said sum to the Treasurer of the Middletown
Volunteer Fire Company, $1, 550 of said sum to the Treasurer of the
Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company, $300 of said sum to the
Treasurer of the Mt. Airy Fire Company, $1, 350 of said sum to the
Treasurer of the Braddock Heights Volunteer Fire Company of Brad-
dock Heights, $1, 300 of said sum to the Treasurer of the New Midway
Fire Company of New Midway, $1, 550 of said sum to the Treasurer
of the Myersville Volunteer Fire Company of Myersville, $300 of
said sum to the Treasurer of the Blue Ridge Summit Fire Company,
$300 of said sum to the Treasurer of the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire
Company, [and $600] $1, 350 of said sum to the Treasurer of the
Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Company of Rocky Ridge, $1, 350 of said
sum to the Treasurer of the Carroll Manor Volunteer Fire Company
of Carroll Manor and $1, 350 of said sum to the Treasurer of the New
Market Volunteer Fire Company of New Market and $500 of said
sum to the Treasurer of the Citizens Truck Company of Frederick,
the said sums to be applied by the respective companies for their
maintenance and support.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
